What is a Life Group? Life Groups meet in homes and are a safe environment where you are accepted for who you are, while at the same time encouraged to reach your full potential in Christ. The common elements of a Life Group are:  fellowship over food, worship, discussion on a focused topic and prayer

Why Should I be in a Life Group? The church is not a place, name, building, or program. It is people. God has called us to be connected to one another in community. At Lighthouse, we believe being a part of a Life Group is the best place to grow in your relationship with Jesus and one another.

How Often Do They Meet? Groups will start at the end of January or beginning of February. Each Life Group may establish its own time and day to meet during the week. This can be a great time of encouragement during a challenging week. Our hope is that there is a group and time that fits your life schedule. Some may meet every week, while most will meet twice (2x) per month.

What will be Asked of Me? Just be yourself. As previously stated, Life Groups are a safe environment where you will be accepted for who you are. You will not be asked to pray aloud or be expected to have previous bible knowledge.

How Are Groups Formed? Life Groups can include people of all ages, and interests. Some groups are specific to a life stage or common interest…while others are blended. Groups are initially formed by people checking the box on the bulletin tear off indicating that they are interested in being in a group. A leader, or someone in a group, will contact them. In the future, those in groups will invite others to join them.

What About My Children? Life Groups are like large families –we will gather to hang out, pray, discuss God’s word, and talk about life. This is the time where faith and life meet. Parents are encouraged to bring their children. However, each group has the freedom to determine how they would like to handle childcare and/or participation of children/youth.

If I Don’t Have Time Now, Can I Get in One Later? Yes. You can get connected with a group at anytime. In this day and age of busy lifestyles, we can all find various reasons not to be in a Life Group However, the benefits of being in a group far out weigh the reasons not to be in a group.  We shouldn’t view this as one more thing to do – rather this an important part of our faith journey.

Will Life Groups be “Cliques”? No. We will always be reaching out to new people and inviting them to the group and we will be careful not to allow these groups to become exclusive in nature.  As groups grow, they will multiply into two groups.

How Do I Get Connected to a Life Group? Simply checking the box on the bulletin tear off will indicate that you are interested in being in a group or send an email. . Be sure to complete your name, phone number and email. Also the names and ages of children is helpful. A group leader will contact you within two weeks of your request.
