Q: When did Lighthouse Christian Church begin?
A: We began over 100 years ago as St. John’s Lutheran Church. Then, in the late 1990s our name was changed to St. John’s Lighthouse and more recently, Lighthouse Christian Church. We have a wonderful heritage and a brighter future!
Q: What are the weekend services like?
A: Our weekend worship is exciting and dynamic! We begin our service with the whole family; adults, teens and children. At 10am it's time for *praise and worship led by Pastor Josh and our team; we continue by worshipping the Lord with our offerings and release the children to go to **Kids Club; we dive into the Word of God for a message that will inspire, encourage and challenge you in your relationship with Christ and others. We close with an opportunity for prayer ministry at the front (for those who would like personal prayer). Our goal each week is to be sensitive and yield to the Holy Spirit as to what He desires to do in our midst. The Holy Spirit knows how to have church!
*At Lighthouse, we are comfortable with a variety of expressions during worship; some people sing and clap, while others may wave a banner or dance, while others sit and enjoy His presence. You feel free to just be yourself!
**Children will stay with their leaders at Kids Club until a parent comes to pick them up.
Q: What about my children/teens?
A: More than twenty-five percent of those who attend Lighthouse are 18 years old or younger. It's our prayer that they connect with Jesus Christ as a result of their experiences in Kids Club and our Youth Ministry. We know that more than 75% of all Christians make their initial commitment to Christ before the age of 18. We consider this time extremely precious. We want a child's early experiences at church to be happy ones. For many children, church may represent their first time away from home. For many parents, this is their limited time to see their preschooler interacting with other children. Kids Club
We have dynamic opportunities for Middle School and High School students as well. Youth Ministry
Q: What does your church believe?
A: Thanks for asking! Our foundation is based firmly upon the Bible as our authority on Christian beliefs and guide to living. As a 'New Testament' church, we are open to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to build up the Body. Read our Statement of Faith
Q: Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?
A: We have a tear-out piece on our bulletin for guests and Lighthouse Family to complete with basic information and prayer requests. We invite you to fill it out simply so we can send you a letter thanking you for joining us. However, filling out the form is optional on your part. We also have a Welcome Center for guests to stop by after the service for a FREE GIFT. For those who stop by the Welcome Center, a card will be sent in the mail the following week from Pastor Bill thanking you for attending. We do invite and encourage you to visit our church over several weeks to see what's going on at Lighthouse.
Q: Can I find out what this weekend's message is going to be about?
